About our masonry contractor company in Billings

Who we are, how we work on your brick, stone and block, and what happens after you get in touch.

Our story, from hauling block to running jobs

I started out as a helper on a small crew, mixing mortar and hauling block until the old hands finally let me lay some. I opened Stonecraft Billings Concrete and Masonry here in Billings in 2021, and we're best known for careful repair on older brick and for walls that stay where you put them. People call us when something's crumbling, leaking or leaning. The smart ones call a little before it gets that far.

Around Billings we see plenty of older brick homes, chimneys and foundations where the mortar quit long before the brick did. That's mortar doing its job, honestly, since it's supposed to wear out first. What I care about is doing the work a job needs and not a lot more. I also care about the parts nobody sees, because those decide how long the rest holds up.

How we work on your brick and stone

These are the things you'll notice when we work on your house, from the first look at the damage to the day the repair is finished.

  • An honest read on what it needs

If a few joints have gone soft, we'll tell you to fix those joints, not tear down the wall. Sometimes the right answer is less work than you expected, and I'd rather tell you that than sell you the bigger job.

  • The same person from estimate to finish

I look at your job and write the estimate myself, and I'm usually on site working with our crew. What you hear in your driveway is what gets built.

  • Repairs that match the old work

We match new mortar and stone to what's already there so the repair sits right with the rest of the wall. It's the difference between a patch you spot from the street and one you have to hunt for.

  • Licensed, insured and squared away

We're licensed and insured. Billings requires a business license from anyone doing business in the city, even a company based somewhere else, so it's a fair question to ask any contractor you're weighing.

What happens after you call us

Here's how a job goes with us, from your first call to the finished wall, so you know who you'll talk to and when.

  1. Step 01

    Call or send the form

Call (406) 318-2106 or fill out the form on our contact page and tell us what you're seeing. We reply within one business day to set up a time to come look.

  2. Step 02

    Walk the job with me

I come out, look at the masonry with you and write a free estimate on site, with no pressure to book. The price turns on how much is failing, matching the old materials and access, and if you need an engineer, you hear it now.

  3. Step 03

    Permits filed, crew at work

When a job needs a permit, we help with the paperwork and can file it with the city's Building Division, which takes permits online, and we keep you posted. Then our crew does the work, usually with me right there.

  4. Step 04

    Look over the finished work

When the work's done, we clean up and walk it with you so you can check the new masonry against the old. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.
